Summer learning journey task 13!

Today for the summer learning journey I did the task geometric animal art. My favourite part was making the fish colourful. My least favourite part was making the bubbles. Next time I would add more sea weed to make It look realistic. If your were to make a geometric animal art what animal would you make?

WOW! What a great geometric fish you have created! The different shapes make it look like there are scales on the fish! I also love how you have created a scene for your fish! The bubbles, seaweed, and the background colour is awesome!

If I were to make one, I would make a tūī! They are so gorgeous! I would like to set the scene, like you have done, and put it in a kōwhai tree!

Keep up the amazing mahi, Ashlyn!

    Ngā mihi nui,

  2. Kia ora Ashlyn,

Ruby here again, a blog commenter from SLJ.

Really love your artwork. I have some technical questions for you! How long did it take you to make? Did you have to sketch your idea out first before you drew it out on the computer, or did you just go straight to digital? Were you using an e-pad with a pen that you could connect to your computer, specifically for digital drawing, or was this just done with a mouse or touchpad? I'm super impressed!

I think you've got some great ideas for how you might develop your art for next time. I also think it would look great with more seaweed. Cool that you want to make it look more realistic, I also think it looks great like this too. I love how you are pushing and challenging yourself by reflecting on all your work and where you might want to take things in the future. With such a positive attitude, you will just keep getting better.

    Keep it up!

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Ruby

  3. Ki ora Ashlyn!

I hope you are having a wonderful summer break and doing really fun stuff! Thanks for sharing your geometric artwork of the fish in its underwater world! I do like how you have included the bubbles, seaweed AND the clam shell...it reminds me of our fish tank at home where we have just installed a clam bubbler - the clam top rises and falls with the bubbles to reveal a pearl inside. Have you ever kept fish or had a fish tank?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for sharing your geometric artwork and seascape! I love the way you have used a combination of orange and yellow shapes in your design. I think it makes it look like scales catching the light.
You have done a fantastic job of this geometric animal art challenge - well done! I look forward to seeing more creative blog posts from you over the summer.
