Summer learning journey task 3!
This week Me and my friends were at each others houses Layla and Lochlan and we were at Layla's farm. We decided to make a water proof boat and put it in the river. We used sticks, flax, kohl leaves and a pink Pipe clean as a person. It was so much fun to make together.
My favourite part was making the person. My least favourite part was attaching it together with the thin flax pieces. Next time I would use more flax so it is more steady.
If you were to make a water proof boat would materials would you choose and were would you test it?

Equipment:
Milk bottle
3 shades of gray paint
Light pink paint
Tan paint
Brown paint
Small paint brush
Sandpaper
PVA glue
Pencil
Metallic silver marker
Method:
Step 1: Cut an old milk bottle into a square shape.

around 2 cm x 2cm on the bottle. On the front draw an oval face with
ears. Draw the eyes and mouth.
Step 4: Get the dark gray paint and paint around 15 squares with the
dark gray paint. When dry, do the 15 squares of the middle gray

Step 5: When the paint is all dry do a second coat of all the colours.
If it needs you can always go in with a third coat of paint.

Do another coat on your face if needed.
Step 8: Lastly, get a succulent of your choice, ¨
I'm using a pink succulent. Plant In inside the milk bottle.
Now you have yourself an amazing recycled sheep pot plant!
For the last two weeks we have been working on up cycled pot plants. I made a sheep. My favourite part was the planting. My least favourite part was the face. Hope you enjoy!
My fabric!
My Fabric!
My fabric is based on mexico. My favourite part was doing the triangles at the bottom. My least favourite part was doing all the tiny little details on the top pattern. My favourite thing on the fabric is the little triangles at the bottom. It was so fun to make and create!
Firstly I planned on a piece of paper with a marker. Then I chose the designs I wanted to do and started to paint them on the fabric. I Painted the triangles then the details at the top. Then I just waited for it to dry. Then It was done.

What do I notice:
That the Aunt, Mum and cousin all have fabric or cloth related jobs. And their all boys. And all the boys Have outside related jobs. I wonder if the Author noticed he was making all the jobs retailed in some way!
What do I wonder:
I wonder how their dad died in the Korean war. Maybe that is how their family became refugees. But if only the dad went how would they all become refugees?

My Movie!
Hi, Welcome back to my blog!
Its Lockdown here in new Zealand and I have made a movie about one of my favourite books ¨ The Cat Wants Custard ¨ . I made it to practise my angles for the film festival that is coming up. My dog was the cat because we don¨t have a cat. The hardest part was getting my dog to stay still and cooperate with me. My favourite part was eating the left over custard I used as a prop in my mini movie. My least favourite part was making the arrow on the clock be in the right place on every slide. It was so much fun to make. What book would you chose to act out, and what props would you you use.
Remember to keep safe in Lockdown!

Auckland to Ahipara
Auckland compared to Ahipara!
I was born in Auckland! Big city lights, and tall building. I spent quite a lot of time in the city next to cars in my mum and dads business. A couple years later I turned 4 and we moved to Ahipara, 5 hours away from Auckland. It was so different! No big city lights, or tall buildings. Just a big ocean and one thousand times more trees than what I was use to. You can drive on the beach and go surfing. We bought a house in Ahipara on a hill by the beach. There is one road in and out of Ahipara to our main town Kaitaia. There is no traffic or loud noises, unless it is the fire alarm.
Now I´m ten and I´m use to everything Ahipara has. We always visit Auckland at least once a year and It fells so different. I love going to Auckland but Ahipara will never be the same!

Country clothing!
Country clothing is mainly chequered, jeans, belts and wide brim hats. They wear chequered tops to proven getting scratched by hay barrels! The materials are usually cotton, leather and denim. You can wear country clothing on sunny days and on cold days. Their mainly light so you don¨t get hot when your farming! Country clothing is very similar to western clothing!

I wonder how many lettires of diesel they used to power the boats, and how much did the diesel cost?
Quick fact: more than 2,000 migrants crossed the channel on small boats in June. They set an world record!

Across the Coast!
Across the Coast!
Boom! Thunderstruck and an old wooden boat washed up on the shore with heaps of white foam on it. On the boat there was a man called Farmer Oul wearing a burgundy red and black checkered patterned T-shirt. When he got washed up on the shore he went for a walk. He could feel the fresh breeze, the Freezing cold water, and Sharp pointy rocks. They love that feeling. It is so relaxing. When they went for a walk, he looked at the view and it felt so nice and refreshing. The rocks were as hot as the sun. The beach is so relaxing. They can see clear blue water and people out fishing on millionaire boats. They could also see big green palm trees with huge coconuts under the green leaves. The coconuts were as brown as the soil.
but then he saw an old dirty map and he picked it up. He saw a red cross and he decided to walk to it.
The map led him up a hill, but he still wasn't at the end of the map. The hill was so steep and he did not like walking for so long. It was like a never-ending hill. When he arrived at the red cross there was a big old rusted barn surrounded with a sharp barbed wire fence. The grass looked like it had not been mowed for years. It looked abandoned. He decided to go into the barn. It looked like no one was there so why would you not go into the barn. It was a big risk. He went through the big wooden doors. . He was excited to see what was in it! Inside the barn was like a dungeon. It had heaps of hay lying on the ground and loose nails striking out of the wall. If your not careful you will get pocked so watch where you step! The wood was routine and it was so hot. On the back barn wall, they saw a big black bulky top hat on the back wall.
When farmer Oul went to the back wall, he dragged his tired sore legs across the barn to investagte the big top hat. He looked into the hat, there was a Blue pointy sparkly gem lying in the deep top hat. He was wondering how it got there. He thought that it was so valuable so he reached his left arm in to grab it. It felt like the smoothest thing he had ever touched. But all of a sudden Boom! The grounded started to shake and his body wobbled. His vision went black as he felt his body be carried away. Suddenly, he was transferred into another land. He had no clue what was happening. He was shocked. It was his farm…
When he got back he was so happy. His black and white spotted cows were sniffing the scorching hot orange flowers. He was so excited to see all his animals. He could feel the cold bright green grass, the bright orange sun and all the wonderful fluffy animals. The animals were as fluffy as wool. The grass made his feet all wet and cool! You could see lots of animals. They were black because the sun reflected on them. What a wonderful lifestyle to live. They could hear the animals mooing and the lawnmower mowing. The lawnmower was as loud as a thunder. The loudest animals were the cows and the sheep. You could also hear the pigs snorting and rolling in mud! Hour after hour, flower after flower he was sitting with his animals. How did he get back? from being on a boat to touching a hat and being back home? What is this mysterious hat.He said where he wantsed to got the most and boom, it took him their. He wondered what else this hat could do? he will exsperament over the years!
It seems like the hat picks up your thoughts and transfers you there. MAGIC! (Adventure) The sun slowly rose as he walked back to his house to have some dinner. He was so happy to be back home!

Kei Te Aha Koe?
Numbers of blog posts!
I think that I only had a bit in January and December because
That is when the school holidays were. In 2019 and 2018 I only had a bit because I was
so little. I had a lot in June because we started a topic thing and we had to post 2 times
a week for all of June! My lowest was 0 because it was probably the school holiday or
nothing much was going on so there was nothing to post on! My goal is to have
35 blog posts in the whole year, and 3 a month and extras if I can.
